On Friday we had a fast-moving storm whip through.

These menacing clouds were underlit by the setting sun which lent a lot of drama to the skyscape.

I stood on my deck and watched this unfolding spectacle while I could …

… as it only lasted for about 10 minutes.
An amazing show, courtesy of Nature.
Happy Sunday.

You had to be Johnny-on-the-spot to get those pictures.

I definitely was, Anneli. If my attention had been elsewhere for even a short time, I would have missed it,

Beautiful shots of the moody yet colourful sky. Nature really knows how to put on a dramatic show with the weather and sunsets (and pretty much everything, really)!

Thank you very much, Linda. 😊 Penticton is in a geographically good position to see these sorts of interesting and beautiful shows. The clouds are forced down the north/south valley and then under-lit by the setting sun from the west; a beautiful phenomenon. Cheers.

Nice. Did you get much rain out of it? We’ve had one day of rain in the last six weeks. We’re having such strange weather. Not a single cloud in the sky for weeks on end. And it’s still summer-like. No changing leaves.

No, we didn’t get any rain at all although areas to the north of us did. We have been fortunate enough to get numerous short periods of slow, steady rainfall throughout the summer which has helped to move us from level 3 drought to level 1. A good improvement. We still look very summery as well but that’s recently started to change. Wow, Lori. Sorry to hear that you’re having such odd weather. I hope that changes soon for your area.

I’m very worried about friends in Florida right now. That latest hurricane is headed right where I used to live. 😨🙏

Yes, I bet you are, Lori. Unbelievable that Florida is about to get another shellacking. So dreadful. I hope everyone stays safe.
