The Pacific Ocean disappears into the horizon off the west coast of Haida Gwaii, British Columbia.

The ocean has always caused me to feel the vast sweep of time and power of the universe, and with them, a great appreciation and gratitude for my limited existence in the here and now.

Happy Thursday.
Happy Thursday.
I would enjoy sitting there by the trees while watching the sea. 😊

I sure was, Liz. And then realising that the next landfall across that ocean stretch is Japan was pretty amazing, too. 😊

These photos are from Haida Gwaii which is two days away by vehicle, but we are only two hours away from the coast itself, though. It’s always great to be near a body of water, isn’t it? 😊

Love the blues. The ocean is so huge and timeless.

I do as well. There’s a lot of overcast obscuring the blues in these pictures but the sky is still beautiful. Cheers.

I learned about vanishing points when I was six years old, leaving a harbour and standing on the ship, watching the last dock piling get shorter and shorter until the tip of it disappeared into the ocean.

I learned about them from flying and sailing (I used to sail many years ago). Agreed – as a child it was always such fun to watch things “disappear!”
