Creek Time

I have been dealing with a bad case of flu for the last several days but yesterday had enough energy to take myself out for a short walk along Penticton creek, which isn’t far from where I live.

It was a beautifully warm, comfortable day and I was able to take little breaks to enjoy the scenery. It was great to get out and start feeling a bit more like myself again.

There are apparently a couple of particularly nasty flu viruses round and about right now, so make sure you follow your best precautions to try to avoid them. Both M and I have had every symptom in the book, from fevers to severe body aches to nausea, so this one is definitely no picnic.

Stay healthy.

    1. Thank you very much! This flu has been a real trial and I’m extremely happy to start seeing the back of it!

It’s interesting that while we travelled for 5 weeks and frequently encountered quite bad weather, it was gorgeous here at home, apparently. I wish you some sun and warmer temperatures. 😎

  1. Glad you are feeling better Lynette. That creek looks like it is in the middle of the June water rush. Good to see it looking so healthy. Happy Thursday. Allan

  2. Good that you feel well enough to get out for a walk, but don’t overdo it, sounds like a nasty bug. I always think colds and flu are worse in the summer.

    1. Thanks, Jude. I was quite careful about going slowly and resting often, and in total did about a kilometre, so pretty short. Oh yes, this is definitely one nasty bug and best to be avoided if at all possible. I did feel better for the walk, though. I agree, I think they’re always worse in summer, too.

    1. We’re reasonably certain that we picked up this one either in the airport or on the flight home as well, but M has pointed out that we were beginning to feel sort of down a couple of days before we left. I’m not sure if we were percolating that bug or just tired from travelling. It is definitely a bad one, though! How long did it take before you were past it?

        1. I’m sorry to hear that, Maggie. My sense is that recovery from this one is going to be slow. I can tell just from the way my body has been reacting. This morning I felt a lot better, but fatigue set in again by about 10:00 a.m. and then I had to go back to bed for a bit. I’m thinking that I’ll just have to patient. Rest well; I hope you get past this soon. 🌼

  3. Not fun at all being that sick. I hear there is a nasty version of Covid on the way (or here). Getting outside to nature is a huge step in getting healthy again – might wear you out physically but it will brace you up mentally. Bernie

    1. It has definitely been a bad one, probably the worst bout of flu I’ve ever had. Oh yay, another covid version. At least I’m slated for a booster this month.
Agreed, getting outside, even if it’s only for a bit, is a good thing! I only walked for about 1 km – which put me to sleep for an hour after I got home – but I felt so much better afterwards. Cheers.

      1. Being slow is part of the process Lynette. The key and important thing is to get back to full swing💡and get back in the land of the living.

Take care my friend and God bless💖💖🙏
