Fleurs

Lovely spring flowers are springing up everywhere.

Narcissus in the city parks …

… and heron’s bill in the city parking lots!

It was lovely to see them thriving in every little unpaved spot. Happy Tuesday.

  1. I have heard of cranesbill and stork’s bill, but not heron’s bill. All in the geranium family. Seems these are probably Erodiums. Pretty little flowers.

        1. I agree. They are so pretty. There used to be a dilapidated house and overgrown garden where the parking lot now is, so I think these erodium may have originated there as I haven’t seen them elsewhere in that area.

    1. Thanks, Allan.
Crane’s bill is very pretty. This heron’s bill (known as stork’s bill in the UK) was growing wild in a parking lot and the untended areas around it. I’m thinking it must have come from a nearby garden or perhaps the garden that used to be there – a dilapidated house was pulled down and a parking lot put in. I haven’t noticed it anywhere else. Nice that your rhubarb is growing! I love rhubarb and strawberry-rhubarb pie. Cheers.

    1. Thank you very much, Belinda. You may know it as stork’s bill; that’s its name in UK but here it’s called heron’s bill. Very pretty little flowers possibly from the garden that was there before the lot was re-designated for parking. There had been a very dilapidated old house with an overgrown yard.

    1. It definitely is, Anneli. We are taking a bit of a drive around on Friday to see how things are coming along (we’re also visiting a favourite winery to pick up some rosé) but yes, in the meantime we have many blossoms appearing. The cherry trees have already bloomed but I didn’t get any photos of those.
