    1. I choose to focus on Sarah’s gorgeous voice and not listen too closely to the lyrics. 😊 Thanks for sending this song. I thought of her and Billie Holiday yesterday while listening to a recording of Ella Fitzgerald live at Carnegie Hall in 1978. Those three had such amazing voices, but I think I like Sarah’s best.

      1. I agree, Lynette. Those three are the holy trinity of female jazz vocalists, IMHO. Sarah’s rendition of SPRING WILL BE A LITTLE LATE THIS YEAR is as good as it gets.

        1. Yes, stunningly beautiful voices. Sarah’s lower register and the texture she imparted to certain pieces is astounding. She had such an instrument and knew how to get the best from it.

  1. When I lived in Dawson Creek, robins were definitely a sign of spring, and even more so were the bluebirds (which we only saw once in a very long while). But here on Vancouver Island, there are robins everywhere, especially when there is new snow on the hills and the birds come down to the lower elevations.

    1. I don’t think I ever saw a robin in NWT – just too far north for them, I think. I believe that robins overwinter on Vancouver Island, so you would definitely see lots of them. They apparently do here, as well. If this guy spent the winter, he came out in pretty good shape as he looks healthy. But I’m choosing to see him as a sign of spring anyway, whether he spent the winter or not!
