Gullible

While out walking I saw a row of seagulls on a gravel bar near the lake shore.

I liked how their bright white contrasted with the blue of the water and mountains.

They almost look like a row of snowballs, but I’m really glad they’re not!

Our shadows are visible in the watery sunlight. It was only about 5C (41F), but quite windless and there was no precipitation of any kind – especially no white stuff!

Happy Monday.

  1. So funny to see birds all in a line. Maybe these gulls are just waiting for some buoys to come along and ask them to dance. Sorry, could not resist. Happy Monday Lynette. Allan

    1. Hahaha. 😁 A clever catch, Allan.

They were standing on a gravel bar at the mouth of a creek that empties into the lake. I liked the pattern of the bar, too. It gave a bit of a less regimented look. Cheers.

  2. I wonder what the attraction was for the seagulls. A food source? The sunshine and warmth of being “on the beach” (sort of)? The fresh water flowing past? The safety of being out in the water but also out of the water?

    1. I’m not sure. They were all huddled together along the sand bar; it looked to me like they were just resting. One or two juveniles were flying around, but otherwise, no swimming, eating or even chatting. Maybe they were cursing the weather and trying to keep their feet warm … 😉
