A tree that lives on a shore margin has dropped all its leaves …

… resulting in a smooth, beautiful bark that is often overlooked in favour of a bounty of foliage …

… its long, strong limbs quietly resting and awaiting warmer and brighter days after a well-earned winter respite.
Happy Saturday.
Beautiful.

Autumn and winter allow us to see the true beauty of trees. They are resilient and patient as they await the rebirth. Happy Saturday Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. If I did drawings or paintings (I’m not talented that way), I would be really focussed on the trunk of that tree and its shape, too. Very human-like, and without the leaves so vulnerable, as well.

The design those branches make is beautiful. Not many leafless deciduous trees can make that claim.

I walk past this tree a lot and had never before noticed its beautiful shape. It took autumn for me to see that. Cheers.

Oh I so agree — there is sculptural beauty in these winter-bare deciduous trees

I’ve walked past this tree many, many times but have only just noticed its human-like sculptural beauty. It looks so vulnerable without its leaves.

It’s interesting to see a tree’s structure without its leafy beauty. Fine photos!

I agree. I have frequently walked past this tree and never before noticed the beautiful bark or structure under all those leaves!

I agree; this tree also seems so vulnerable to me too. Without its weight of leaves and colour it’s so exposed!

Looks a bit spooky!

Yes, it does have a sort of Halloween look about it that certainly comes across in the photos, but I actually found it quite vulnerable looking without its leaves.
