Yes, definitely. We’re beginning to see a lot of the consequences now, the terrible forest fires here in Canada for one. It’s the worst year on record and the smoke has affected air quality over much of North America.

I have heard about the wildfires and the poor air quality there; it sounds like all of Canada is burning; it’s tragic.

Our area of British Columbia has been safe so far as we have had showers through the last two months. Other provinces (and parts of provinces) have not fared so well. I agree; it has been tragic. Some of the photos of the destruction are totally heartbreaking.

I remember a few years ago, maybe five, when smoke from WA State wildfires drifted into British Columbia. Smokey skies has become a regular occurrence in the summer over the past 5 – 7 years in the PNW, and beyond; before that I never remember wildfire smoke in the area. Agreed; it is heartbreaking.
