Hi Allan, I don’t know if you saw Anneli’s response to you below. I agree that it maybe got too cold. You could try mulching it, but I didn’t have any luck growing it in Medicine Hat because of the chinooks and then the occasional -40. Too bad, because lavender keeps the mossies down.
Yes, that was my experience when I lived in southern Alberta, and the chinooks and -40 periods didn’t help. I tried mulching but that didn’t work either.

You need a lot of mulch to counteract that kind of cold.

I love lavender too. I should put some in my garden.

Lavender also helps to keep mosquitoes away. They don’t like it, so having it in your garden is a win-win!
