At present there are a number of public art installations throughout Penticton as part of a rotating exhibition. Below is a picture of one of them.

When I first saw it, I thought the intension was to emphasise fun on the sunny beaches, that sort of thing. However, once I read the signage, I saw that the point was much more serious.

Is Big Brother spying on us? What do you think?
Amusing way into a serious issue! I really don’t like how Facebook tracks users outside of its own site.

Agreed. And my understanding is that it’s happening over many, many sites. I’m constantly clearing out cookies and it’s annoying how often various sites want my location. I don’t think there’s really much privacy if we use the internet and particularly a smartphone.

Oh wow – I would have thought the same thing that you did. The actual meaning isn’t nearly as nice, but definitely makes you think…

Yes, I think so too. Our privacy is likely being invaded much more frequently than we realise.
Happy weekend. 🙂

Yes, I think our phones are spying on us, even when we’re not using them…

Just by looking at that art installation I never would have guessed that it was about Big Brother spying on us. Makes you think though. Who knows, maybe the nose is watching us too.

Yes, it’s definitely a nudge. I agree, maybe the nose IS watching! Lately I’ve had a couple odd things happen which leads me to believe that it’s probably quite common.
