Apparently, they are being affected by climate change and habitat loss. They are less affected here in the north but many species migrate. This one was in a friend’s garden. There were many of them flitting around, and a number of different species, more than I have seen in a long time.
I saw quite a few bees this summer but this butterfly, along with a number of others, were in my friend’s northern garden. I hadn’t seen that many, especially in one spot, in a long time.
So strange. It’s there if you look at the post from the reader, but I just checked from outside WP and it’s nowhere to be found. The happiness engineers (tech-challenged nomads?) must be at it again, as this happens every so often.
Great capture. What a beautiful butterfly. Not sure I’d want to land on something with lots of thorns sticking out!

Hahaha. 🙂 Me either! They seem to know where to put their feet!

Nature isn’t patient with their species, is it. Sigh.

😍 what a great picture! The butterfly certainly stole the shot but I didn’t miss seeing the neighboring bee or the beetle beside it!

Yes, I don’t know what type of beetle that is, but he was just as busy finding some nectar. 🙂

I only saw a few this summer. And not that many bees or wasps either. But this butterfly is a beauty.

Ahhh … there is the problem. I don’t use the reader. I go to the posts from my emails.

Yes, but you should still be able to “like.” Definitely an oddity.
