We’ve had some interesting cloud formations lately and I’ve enjoyed watching the sky.

We’ve had the very layered …

… the very puffy …

… and also the very setting sun super lit!
Happy Monday.

When I’m outside, I’ve been trying to get in the habit of looking at the sky with regularity, which is something I ordinarily haven’t done all that much in my life. The sky is always there, and is amazing.

As a young pilot I got into the habit of always looking at the sky and that then morphed into a love of its constantly changing beauty. I agree; the sky is always there and often ignored. We’ve been getting some gorgeous cloud scenes lately. Cheers.

Yes, we have been getting some gorgeous ones lately. The weather has been pretty great too with temperatures rising – today’s high is going to be 8 – but that makes me think that the other shoe might be dropping at some point soon! January is usually our worst month. Cheers.

The middle picture looks like Mammatus clouds. We get them around hear when there’s a thunderstom brewing.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, I agree that they really do. As I’m sure you know, mammatus develop on the undersides of other clouds, especially cumulonimbus and towering cumulonimbus and can also exacerbate thunderstorm and tornado development. They might indicate that a dangerous storm is on the way. The clouds pictured are altocumulus; they’re benign although they can cause some turbulence if you fly through them. Cheers.
