I’ve enjoyed watching large maple leaves gently fall from this tree and now there’s only a very few left including this little one, its time done, its rest awaiting.

There’s something very soothing about taking just a couple of minutes to watch leaves floating to the ground; a very centring activity.

Happy Tuesday.
Such a soft, pretty colour xx

It’s hanging on to autumn, not wanting winter yet. 😊

Yes, that must be it! If I could I would hang on to autumn much longer, too.

Yes. Watching leaves fall is relaxing. I had an opportunity one day last to do just that. It felt like rain equivalent of falling leaves.
I watched as they landed in the water.

Yes, I’ve also watched trees rapidly losing their leaves almost like rain but the ones I like most are those that drop them slowly. I love watching that slow drift to the ground.

Agreed, it’s always fun to watch the leaves fall gently from the trees. We have very few left as well. And if we have another windy day, I’m sure they’ll all be gone.

Depending on the species, some trees here are completely denuded while others still have lots left. The beech tree behind our place is only beginning to turn yellow. I’m glad that it’s a process instead of all of them going at once. The wind is likely gone for the year since the valley cloud cap has started – I’m very happy that it might be over! We had more than our share lately!

It’s interesting that some people find it so peaceful, calming, or beautiful to watch the leaves come down. To me it’s always such a sad thing. Maybe I need to readjust my thinking.

I agree that it’s sad but watching them fall feels a bit like a tribute to all the happiness they’ve given us, too. Their last gift is to get us to slow down to observe.

Another commenter here pointed out that it’s sad, too, and I agree, but I also think we’re enjoying the last gift the tree can offer before it drifts off to sleep.

Watching the leaves flutter about is mesmerizing, like we do not want to let go of the season. Have a great day Lynette. Allan

Thank you very much, Allan. I agree. And yes, we’re enjoying that last bit, still hanging on to one of the best parts of the season. Cheers.

I love trees, and the autumn colors, except here in north Texas most trees are still green. Well many trees have green leaves year around here.

Yes, I understand. I lived in Phoenix for a year and saw how some trees didn’t lose their leaves all at once while other trees’ leaves just seemed to dry up and fall off. I love the autumn colours, too. I wish they would stay just a bit longer. 🍂
