October Vistas

We have come through a stretch of rainy, very windy, coolish weather that at the higher elevations of the mountains, produced snow. Already! With better weather afterward, there were some good autumn scenes to be captured, though.

A warm sunset glow, despite the fact that we’re heading toward winter …

… was highlighted by mellow golden leaves …

… and fading orange light through red foliage.

Tis the season for colour.

  1. Fall often seems like a battle between the wind and the trees as the winds do their best to blow all the leaves off the trees and onto your lawn. Still pretty after the rain stops, though. Happy Tuesday Lynette. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. The amount of wind we’ve been getting since August has been very unusual. It comes up around noon with gusts up to 50-60 km and then dies off around sunset. There’s not much right at surface level, though. It’s at about the 15-17 m level, which is a bit odd. It got pretty cold here last night with a low of 2. I think winter is coming …

    1. We heard from a friend that you were getting a strong winter reminder! Ugh. Agreed – much too early. Many leaves will hang on here until November as some trees last much longer than others. Makes for a gentler transition!

  2. Beautiful pictures! 👌🏻
Indeed it is a season when every leaf seems to dip its brush into a different shade of wonder. Autumn has this magical way of blending the darkest rusts with the lightest golds, reminding us that even endings can burst into colour.🙏🏻👍🏻🙂
