I am likely “preaching to to the choir” but still felt it is important to share the following statement. It’s our next step forward.
The Next Step
This is a very important post-election piece from Marc Doll via Bernie at Equipoise Life. I hope you click the link above to give it (and the comments) a read. The electorate has spoken and the politicians are supposed to listen, so it’s time we ensure that they pull together for the betterment of our beautiful nation.
Great article. I am so happy that the “adult in the room,” will be leading our country.

I don’t feel happy so much as relieved that we don’t have the double whammy of Poilievre and Trump. In the end, we got the person we need right now.

Hi Kenny, we understand and know that many are opposed to Trump’s behaviour and our fight is with him, his government and those billionaire buds of his, not individual Americans.

In an interesting twist, President Trump supported his candidacy. Clicking through your link…

It’s possible that he was just trying to be provocative rather than supportive. The Conservative Party (the federal party here that’s most similar to the Republican Party) was defeated because its leader was widely seen to be supportive of Mr Trump’s platform.

What we heard, here in the US, was how negative he was on Trump. Who knows what the truth was/is.

Not hard to know the difference from our perspective here since we heard directly what Mr Poilievre (the Conservative Party leader) had to say. He was widely seen as being much too easy on Mr Trump. Mr Carney (our new PM), on the other hand, frequently excoriated Mr Trump. I don’t know what news outlets are saying that, but they actually have it round the wrong way.

You’re very welcome, Bernie. 😊 I think Marc’s message is spot on and should be spread all over this country. Carney needs to be given a chance, not automatically disliked.

Thanks for bringing this Equipoise Life post to our attention, Lynette — and bravo again, for how often you do showcase the work of other bloggers. It’s a generous and supportive thing to do, and something that benefits us all. I’ll be sharing “The Next Step” more widely, you bet.

Thank you for your support, Penny, it’s very much appreciated. The message in “The Next Step” is vitally important, I believe, and thank you for sharing it further.
Related to “The Next Step” is my position that Alberta’s premier is exploiting the election results to further her agenda and at the same time to also escape responsibility for fomenting separatist angst. She is herself a separatist and Trump supporter but much too cowardly to be honest about it.

all true, it is both discouraging and frightening (I think of Austria in the 1930s, and the pull to align with growing power across that border)

I’ve been thinking about that too, Penny, much more than I like. Ugh.
