During a westerly flight into the sun …

… the refraction of light through high altitude ice crystals produced a bluish-white halo above the sunset. Isn’t it beautiful?
Happy Thursday.

Did you ever have a flight where you kept up with the sunset?

Most recently I’ve experienced that in NWT while flying northwest toward Inuvik in the spring. A constant sunset. The light is amazing.

Very beautiful. It’s neat how different the sky and sunset looks from up above the clouds.
