The contrail of this jet on its way to Vancouver was highlighted by the setting sun, producing an unusual contrast with the sky.

We had exceptionally clear weather and were able to see the bodies of the over-passing jets, not just their vapour trails.

Happy weekend.

Beautiful captures. I love the pink streak in the sky from the plane.

Happy for this time of year, when the air clears a bit and everything is lit by the setting sun. We set a record here yesterday at 32 (usual average 18) and may set records today and tomorrow. Not necessarily a good thing. Happy Saturday Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. It’s usually such a glorious time with warmth, calm, clear air and cool nights. Apparently we are presently getting a high that’s being pushed in from the Pacific by a tropical storm. We had some showers one day during the week but agreed, this continued high heat isn’t necessarily good. I understand that good progress has been made on the fires in the northeast corner and this could get them whipped up again. We may as well enjoy it though and fingers crossed that there’s no additional fire activity.

The weather has really been glorious, Belinda. So great that it cools off a bit at night now, too. Yes, I saw that Ontario is going to get doused. Ugh.
