Autumn Fire

The trees here in the Okanagan are glowing in the best kind of way with the most intense, fiery reds and oranges.

We’ve had quite a bit of rain and mist over the last couple of days, so these gorgeous trees very impressively puncture the overcast with their colourful abandon.

Happy Thursday.

    1. Our rain is finished now and we’re supposed to have sun for the next several days. It has really cooled off though. We’re looking at highs between 6-8C. And only last Friday it was gorgeous with lots of restaurant and pub patios still very occupied. Yesterday we decided to put our deck to bed for the winter as we don’t think we’ll use it again until March or so. I’m glad we got a decent soaking as we sorely needed it.

    1. The colours of the sugar and red maples has been gorgeous. Their leaves are falling rapidly now though so these maples in particular will soon be bare. We still have lots of green leaves on the aspens and cottonwoods, so some colours still coming. Cheers.

    1. Thank you very much, Linda.

Some of our colours have been, too. We got just enough rain to get by but many of the trees showed signs of heat stress. On some of them the leaves just curled up and fell off. The summer was a difficult one for plants, trees and animals.
