Thank you very much, Steve. I think you do see my head; I didn’t realise the shadow was there until after I posted the picture (a bit annoying that I did that). The display is from a neighbour. Cheers.
Well, here I am in Canada; do we celebrate today? It remains to be seen… Here with a friend to sort out her vacation home here, which was broken into and vandalized, and lots stolen, so she’s got her work cut out for her. We have an invitation to join friends for T’giving meal this afternoon, if she’s up for it, and we want to drive an hour down the road. But it’s stopped raining, and the weather on PEI is stunning today, so I’ll enjoy it while I can!
How awful – I am so sorry to hear about this! Yes, many people will celebrate today while others will have celebrated yesterday. In my husband’s family of origin it was always on the Monday while in mine it was the Sunday. His did turkey, mine did roasts.
It has an interesting history as it originally was a loose date in November, celebrated at different times and in different ways, but after Remembrance Day was placed on Nov 11 at the close of WWI, Thanksgiving was nailed down to October so as not to conflict. There is also now some controversy around it as many consider it to be cultural appropriation. Most First Nations had autumn harvest celebrations (sometimes for a least a week) that are no longer recognised. (A little history for you in a nutshell.)
It’s so great that they’re having good meals, Wayne. I’m reading that so many aren’t doing well. Fantastic that you were able to see that – how wonderful!
Well… How I wish I was in Canada right now getting blessed by receiving and also giving whatever I can to bring a smile on someone else’s face happy

I was commenting to be “cute” and not as a critique, Lynette.

Good to remember, with all the chaos in the world it is easy to forget to be grateful.

It sure is. And yes, I agree – the world is one chaotic place where we just seem to bounce from one tragedy to the next.
