I always find pond lilies so pretty.

Usually the wild ones I see are white, but here are some red ones.

Have a good Monday.

The pics are beautiful!
I have never seen a white pond lily but mostly the red and purple ones.

Around here, the wild ones are usually white or a very pale (almost white) pink. The cultivated ones (as in the above pictures) are usually red or pink. In any case, they are lovely. Cheers. 🙂

Water lilies are so beautiful. They were out in full force in Vancouver when we were there, whites, pinks, reds. A cheery flower. Happy Monday. Allan

Thank you, Allan. I agree – so pretty, cheerful and calming, as well. They are still blooming here but starting to taper off now. Cheers.

The French impressionist artist, Monet, loved these floating floral gifts and painted them many times. I love your own simple versions, Lynette.

Thank you very much, Stuart. I love Monet’s paintings and have sighed over them at the MusĂ©e de l’Orangerie. So beautiful.

Me too. I’m such a fan of these marshy areas in general (except for when it’s the peak of mosquito season). I don’t think I’ve ever seen a red pond lily before, just white and yellow. Looks beautiful.

Thanks, Linda. I think the red and pink ones might be cultivated, while the white and yellow ones are wild. Actually, I just stopped to look them up and found out that they were first cultivated in Egypt and that the wild ones tend to be white, yellow or a very light pink. They aren’t just a pretty face because they apparently also prevent algae from forming. Cheers.

They’re not very common in this area, but water lilies of any colour are pretty.
