Late Summer Bounty

We are beginning to come into the season of plenty; that crossover from summer to autumn when fruit, in particular, is plentiful. Veggies will be a bit later but we’re starting to get some of those, too.

A bowl of peaches, plums and greengages, including flat or Saturn peaches.
Ready-to-be-picked plums.
Ready-to-eat apricots.

Such deliciousness! Happy Sunday.

  1. I’ll be eating some cherries today. They used to be called Bing cherries. I’m not sure what name they go by these days. Maybe Northwest cherries. Anyway, they are delicious.

    1. Bing cherries are really common and an excellent eating cherry. There are other good ones like Rainier cherries and black cherries, though. It’s sometimes hard to tell the difference between bing and black cherries as they taste the same to me, but agreed – they’re delicious!

  2. While we are far from your orchards, we have been eating cherries, peaches, plums and apricots as often as we can. Patty used to be allergic to stone fruit, but now can eat them too, so we enjoy them often. Happy Sunday Lynette. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. Allergies are so weird. I used to be able to eat peanuts, but suddenly developed an allergy to them when I was in my mid-30s. Now I carry an epipen everywhere. It’s great that Patty is now able to eat stone fruit as it’s just so delicious (and good for us).
