Actually, “pileated” means feathers on the head, which makes me envious, because I don’t even have hair on mine.

The sound of a woodpecker in the forest… It’s like the sound of a loon, dawn or dusk, across a lake. Raises the hair on your arms, and shocks you into stillness.
