Hi Jacqui, 25,000 ft. is equivalent to about 5 miles, but the appearance of distance in an aircraft can be very deceptive. The aircraft was banked to the right when I took this photo, the sun was going down behind some cloud and the horizon was partially obscured, so any sightings of curvature in those conditions would be an optical illusion. I have seen curvature from 35,000 ft. of altitude, though. Cheers.
A great view to start the week Lynette. Have a good one. Allan

That’s about 225 miles away. Do you think we can see the curve of the Earth? I feel like I can… Great picture.

You mean it’s not flat after all?

Shoot. I googled that distance. Can’t believe anything anymore! That’s interesting about the curvature, though.

35,000 ft. would be about the minimum for seeing curvature. Cheers.
