         1. The books have quite a bit more detail and in some cases, depth, but the movies do a good job of hitting the broad parameters without changing the content. Cheers.

            1. I encountered that when I read Stephen King’s Firestarter. I got a lot more detail in the book that the movie couldn’t cover. It was disappointing.

            2. Yes, I often find movie versions of books (usually, where I’ve read the book first) to be unsatisfactory, pale copies.
