After spring flood in May, Alexandra Falls has cooled its water force.

Much different than earlier this year.

Happy Thursday.

Spectacular scenery Lynette. Always wanted to drive up that way, but have not made it yet. Happy Thursday. Allan

Thanks, Allan. Buffalo National Park is amazing and so is Nahanni (it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site). Well worth visiting – lots of good hiking.

Thank you very much. 🙂 I’m amazed at how quickly the water level has dropped. A month ago, this river was flooding!

I wonder what the highest water level has been here. Do you think it ever filled up the lower part to the top of the cut? Looks like it may have one reached the part where the sides are sliding into the water.

Probably close. I think it was very full during the latest flood. There were still a few ice blocks in the trees near the crest of the waterfall, and lots of tree damage, too.

Would love to be able to look back over the decades or longer and see the levels.

That would be interesting.

What an impressive waterfall. It’s crazy how much the volume of it changes depending on the time of year.

Yes, it’s really quite something and I’ve photographed it a lot. At times it’s barely a trickle, especially in the autumn.
