Some enterprising people have clothed this tree in a colourful patchwork of crocheted and knitted flowers, tassels, squares and other decorations.

It will be toasty during the winter!
Happy Thanksgiving!

I love these art projects. We used to have a group of trees covered in kitting, that I called the “Knitted Forest” in Edmonton, but the knitting soon got bedraggled. Happy Thanksgiving Lynette. Allan

Thank you very much. π
Yes, some of the kitting or crochet on this tree is showing signs of weathering. The work further up the trunk and branches is clearly much newer; I wonder if pieces are continually being replaced as they begin to deteriorate?

We recently spent some time on the Isle of Wight, and there is a similar craft group there. Many items were decorated with crocheted and knitted items, giving colour to the streets. Bright folk art, eh?

I love this idea. As you say, it gives such colour to the streets. This tree is just outside an art gallery and seems to be an extension of the expression inside. Very enjoyable.

Makes me want to be a tree. It’s chilly today.

Hahaha. π This one will be cozy through the winter; I hope you found some warmth and coziness too.

In Takoma Park, a few years ago, I was tempted to knit a sweater for a little mermaid sculpture that looked very cold in the snow!

Given how colourful and bright this tree looks, that might be a good idea!

I love this — is this up in the NWT or here in BC? Is there more “yarn art” all around it?

This is in Penticton, outside an art gallery. Itβs rather covered. There are a lot of outside art projects in this area as there are two contiguous parks along the waterfront and the art gallery is there, too.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a tree wrapped up like this before! It looks very comfy, cozy and stylish!
