The Deh Cho (Mackenzie) River

Deh Cho River, NWT

The Deh Cho (Mackenzie) River in NWT is the second longest river in North America after the Mississippi. Its tributaries drain a fifth of Canada and it spans 1700 km to its delta at the Arctic Ocean. The delta itself is so spread out that it appears to be a part of the ocean, even as much as ten km upriver.

Greetings from the Deh Cho River.

    1. As Anneli points out, you may have heard of it as the Mackenzie, but it lives in the very far north (it empties into the Arctic Ocean) and lots of people haven’t heard of it.
