No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent,

a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as any manner of thy friends or of

thine own were; any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore, never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

These are gorgeous photos. I love mountains. I have to drive quite far to find any. The closest I can do are rolling hills.

Thank you 🙂 Yes, they are, and rolling hills are gorgeous too. I find those gentle curvatures very soothing and relaxing. My M loves mountains (I do as well, but I like just about everything 🙂 ) and our home is in the Okanagan Valley between two mountain ranges. The north where I work is much different. Even the winter air is a different shade from the south. I love all the variation nature offers. 🙂

We seem to be in the same place at the moment, even if in different parts of the world… 😉

John Donne–haven’t thought of him in years. What great quotes that will enrich my day.

Thank you. 🙂 I think I first encountered him in HS and then later did a uni course on metaphysical poets that included him. I hadn’t thought of him in a long time either, but he spoke to me for these photos.

Yes, I get your point for sure. But the original was written some time around 1600, and I didn’t want to change the wording.

The Pacific Ocean and the Pacific Northwest in general is very beautiful. 🙂

Totally! I grew up in the (suburban) San Francisco Bay Area, so the Pacific is a little bit like “home” to me. I miss seeing the ocean! 🙂
