I saw some interesting cloud formations that were lit by an almost full moon.

The moon itself was rather impressive, but I thought the clouds were more compelling. I was hoping for a better picture (this was taken with my phone – I do need to be better about remembering my camera!), but I think it conveys an idea of what I saw.
Happy Friday; happy weekend.
Connotations of approaching fall and Hallowe’en Lynette. Great ethereal shot with any camera. Happy Friday. Allan

Haha. 🙂 Yes, a broomstick witch gliding across would be an appropriate touch! Thank you, Allan. The zoom on a cell phone only works up to a point. Cheers.

I don’t think this photo could have been better. It’s excellent.

Thank you very much for your comments, Neil. I used the zoom on my camera and felt that the photo was maybe too grainy. Cheers.

IPhone 15 is supposed to have a much better camera than my 14. Since I don’t even own a camera anymore, I am considering upgrading just for the pictures!

The phone cameras are really quite good, but the zoom feature on any of them is going to be lacking, especially at night. They just can’t compete with a good lens. For most pictures though, the phone cameras work well and I use mine a lot too. Cheers.

I think the 15 has 5x, which doesn’t compare to my old camera. That pixelating is annoying.

Yes, it sure is. Sometimes, you just need the right tool for the job.

Very nice! It looks like you took this from an elevated position.

Thank you. 🙂I was on the ground in a parking lot! I just was lucky that I caught the clouds at the right time with no buildings in the way.

Thank you very much, Lori. 🙂 Since I took it with my cell camera, thought it might be too grainy.

There’s always something to see, if we keep our eyes open. Very nice photo. I was also looking at the full moon with clouds moving past it this morning and felt exactly as you did, seeing these.

I agree, Anneli, and thank you very much. On that particular evening the clouds were clearing after a heavy overcast and were being lit in the most interesting ways by the moon. So beautiful.

I’d say the picture turned out pretty well considering it was from your cell phone. It’s amazing how clouds come in such unusual shapes and patterns and that they’re always changing. It’s a good reason to look up at the sky every so often.

Thank you very much for your kind words, Linda. Cell cameras don’t generally work very well for moon pictures (including this one where the moon is just sort of a bright blob) but the clouds did turn out rather well which is what I was trying to capture. Yes, it’s always a good idea to look up, especially at this time of year. Cheers.
