You’re right about that! We are in the middle of our annual deep freeze, although it hasn’t really gone into the -40s yet (which is usually the case in early January). We’re a bit warmer this year, but really, there’s not much difference between high -30s and low -40s. It’s all really cold!
The elders have been talking about how the winters are now much warmer, affecting the snow quality and animal behaviour. This does seem to be the case, even within my experience of winters here.
