M and I have been doing lots of walking around our new home in British Columbia’s truly spectacular Okanagan Valley. Lots of wine is produced here and the landscape reflects that. There are moderate, wet winters with very hot summers, great for grapes and all the other types of fruit that are grown here. There’s so much more, however. Here’s a sample:

We are continually oohing, ahhing and wowing as we explore this amazing place.
We feel truly grateful to be here. 🙂
We do live in a beautiful part of the country. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Don’t we? It’s just so amazing. 🙂 M and I never want to lose our appreciation, our joy in being here. It would be so sad to start taking all this for granted.

Oh wow! That is amazing! I wish I could live in an area just like that! 🙂 Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem possible for me to make a living in such areas… But, I can always dream about it for later on in life! And travel to such places on vacations. Enjoy it and please keep posting photos.. 😉

If you don’t mind me asking and are able to share, what do you do? Maybe there is a possibility for you to be here, or somewhere like here…
In the meantime, yes, there are good dreams and holidays. One of the reasons why M and I moved here is because we had a great holiday here a couple of years back. 🙂

I live in Europe and work and I am a social worker… so, it is quite hard for me to move to another country. It could be done, but I would probably have to take some more courses and/or tests, cause there are different laws over there, etc. I have thought about it a few times, to try and move to Pacific Northwest, US, /Canada. But… it seems like so much work, so I get lazy just thinking about it… 😉
There are very beautiful and mountainous areas in my country too. It’s just that the villages near those areas are too small (no jobs). I really have a lot of things to think about, regarding my future… 🙂 I am glad that you get to live where you live, I am happy to enjoy the photos, while I work out if I can ever get to live in a place like that! 😉

I understand. My last move – in August I moved 1000 km west to take a new job – was exhausting, and I was only changing provinces, not countries.
Years ago I moved to Germany and then later, back to Canada. A lot of work! And yes, you have to deal with educational differences, etc. Maybe some day it will work out for you! 🙂

Yes, you never know. But I am quite content to take vacations to these beautiful locations. I have a dream that when I retire (in about 30 years, lol), I can stay in a mountainous, beautiful area in the summer, and somewhere with warm weather in the winters.. 🙂

I have that dream, too. 🙂 Mostly fulfilled except the warm in the winter bit, although it’s quite temperate here in the winter. 🙂

That is good to hear. 🙂 Winters here are quite brutal and long, so I will hang on to the dream.. : )

Gosh, Lynette it looks stunningly beautiful there. I went to see Diana Krall before my operation and I think she is from British Columbia. How far is it from where you lived before?

Yes, she is. From Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Lovely voice.
Where I live now in the Okanagan Valley is 1000 km from where I lived before in Alberta.
It is stunningly beautiful here. We almost can’t believe it. 🙂
