March 20’s Friday Flower

I am safely back in Canada and almost at my work-home to start my 14 days of self-isolation. It has been hectic as I tried to handle all sorts of things from a distance and the concern about being able to get home at all was also in the back of my mind.

Thank you to everyone who wished me safe travels and good luck. That was so very much appreciated. 🙂

And now, something lovely to look at …

I love the variegated pink and white petals.

Whatever you’re doing, and wherever you’re from, I wish you a happy weekend, good health, and a better week to come. 🙂

Jill, this One Is for You

Jill Weatherholt and I have been following each other for about seven years now. She’s strong and kind and lovely and a published author. You can visit her site at https://jillweatherholt.wordpress.com/

She’s also an orchid whisperer. She keeps orchids in her office and they love her as much as she loves them. There’s lots of growing and blooming.

So when I saw this delicate light green orchid, I immediately thought of Jill. I don’t know what it’s called, but to me it’s Jill’s Orchid.

Flowers of Republica Dominicana Part II

Dominican Republic is home to many types of orchids, something I hadn’t realized until my last visit.

I had been there a number of times before, but somehow I had missed how plentiful they are.

It’s lovely to see them just growing where they like, these beautiful splashes of ostentatious and frilly colour.

The freedom to take root in the ground of choice is one we should all be able to enjoy. 🙂

Flowers of Republica Dominicana – Part I

Orchids are a marvellous part of the Dominican landscape.

There are many kinds, including the vanilla orchid that is native to the island. They weren’t blooming when we visited, but here’s a beautiful white one that was.

New World Orchid

And one more.

Miltoniopsis

There are many magnificent things in the world; in this 20/20 year, we need to see that.

Greetings from the lovely orchids of Dominican Republic. 🙂

Summer Dreaming

It has been snowing for almost three weeks. There have been gaps, but mostly, snow. In Chipewyan, yath. Falling. Almost like rain. Straight down. Heavy and fat and weighty. Definitely not just a few flakes. Not to be ignored.

It looks like this.

It’s really grey and it’s getting dark very early (and earlier all the time!).

I’m missing this.

Ah, summer. It’s only November and I have a while to go, so is it okay if I start dreaming about you now? Never too early?

I’m looking forward to seeing you again, old friend. 🙂
