Today was a holiday Monday, so M and I did a little vineyard exploration and found a lovely winery restaurant and a good bottle of wine.
Lunch was delicious, the view was fantastic and we were rewarded with a gaggle of wild roses (also known as sweet briar roses) as we left the grounds. It was a good day.
It had just rained, and the scent from these roses was heavenly.

😉 You can never go wrong with pink-coloured flowers.
Do enjoy the rest of your day, Lynette.
Thank you very much, Renard. They always lend a rosy colour to the day. 😉
Lunch at a beautiful winery is always a treat. Lovely photos!
Thank you very much. Our lunch was really a good one and with such pretty views it was great.
I love the scent of roses after the rain. It always reminds me of my childhood and a visit we paid to my grandmother’s house. Sounds like you had an enjoyable day, Lynette. Love that pink rose!
I agree! They give such a fresh, rosy scent – it’s just beautiful. It sounds like the memory of your grandmother’s house is a lovely one. We did have a very enjoyable day with a great lunch and a pretty view. 🙂
Looks like the perfect day Lynette. Have a great Tuesday. Allan
Thanks, Allan. It was a really terrific day!
Wonderful day!! Love the images 😊
Thank you very much. 🙂 It was an unexpected, very good day!
What a lovely day. So glad you had time to enjoy the holiday.
Thank you very much, Lori. 🙂 It was the first time in a long while that I was able to fully enjoy a long weekend. 🙂
Wineries do a good job of entertaining guests in ways that include wine. We have a winery in our family (distantly) and it’s always a fun afternoon.
We enjoy them very much and many have good restaurants. We like to find good bottles for our cellar, too. Fun that you have one in your family!
Looks like a great spot to enjoy the rest of the May long weekend. Those wild roses are gorgeous.
It was, and not too crowded yet. The rose bushes were everywhere growing in little patches between rocks, so they’re a hardy group. The scent coming from them was really gorgeous. Cheers.
Beautiful roses plus a wonderful shot of the winery. It looks so refreshing.
It’s really a lovely spot. It was cloudy with rain showers but we could still see far up the valley. And the lunch was wonderful. Cheers.
a “gaggle of wild roses”!! I love it
Thank you. 🙂 Much appreciated.
