A summer memory from the mountains near Penticton.

When we’re buried in snow and it’s -38C (-22F) out, it’s time to remind yourself that yes, there is such a thing as summer, and you can wear sandals and shorts instead of parkas and snow pants. After walking to work and melting the frost from my eyelashes once I got inside, looking at some summer scenes was a good thing.
Happy Wednesday.
Amazingly, here in southeast Pennsylvania we’ve yet to have any snow so far this winter.
You are a lucky duck! I think most of N. America is having quite a snowy, cold winter, but you have escaped it (so far, anyway) – pretty nice!
I am with you on this one Lynette. After a couple of weeks of not shoveling, I am back at it today. Spring is coming………..Allan
Right? I remember how much I used to like winter when I was a child, but those days are either long gone or I’ve gotten too old for this!
A beautiful view, Lynette. And a nice reminder that warmer days are ahead. Happy Wednesday.
Thank you very much, Sue. 🙂 When donning all the layers and the parka for the umpteenth time, summer days seem far away, but they aren’t really.
That’s nice, Lynette.
Thank you very much, Jacqui. 🙂
You do what you have to do to survive that cold weather. Dreaming of days to come is good.
Thank you, Anneli. It’s getting harder and harder to put on that parka (beautiful and warm though it is) so yes, looking forward to the future is a good thing. Cheers.
Just about the same temperature here this week. 🥶
A lovely summer scene to thaw you out.
We have a wind chill warning tonight of -55C (-67F)! I don’t think I’ve experienced that since I was posted to CFS Alert (it’s the most northerly inhabited place in the world). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CFS_Alert
At least it’s not blowing; you only have to contend with the wind you create as you move. Yikes. The summer scenes are definitely needed! Stay warm, Lori. 🙂
Yes! We all need this reminder this week 🙂
Right? N. America seems to be getting whacked by cold weather right now!
Great place! Looks nice and quiet. Happy Thursday! 🙂
It’s a beautiful spot in the mountains above our home in Penticton, British Columbia. There is a lodge nearby but mostly there are lots of hikers and just a few campers.
And here I was complaining about the cold, but that’s nothing compared to up north! Stay warm out there. Summer will be here before we know it! Enjoy the rest of your week. Linda
Thanks, Linda. We have been experiencing very cold temperatures lately (they are supposed to spread over much of N. America) but they are warming up some now, thankfully. Agreed; summer will be here before we know it!
