How very Canadian: an ice block with a maple leaf carved into it.

Happy Tuesday from the Northwest Territories where carving ice blocks is a real thing!

They moved our Ice on Whyte festival to ICE district this year, so we will see how these carvings do when we get back above 0 at the end of the week. Happy Tuesday Lynette. Allan
I remember it being at Whyte Avenue from years ago. Ours are in no danger of melting until April or even later. Tonight our low is supposed to be -38. Ugh.
Cool! Or should I say, icy cool?! 😉
Haha! 🙂 Very, very cool. Right now it’s -30C (-22F) but it’s sunny so we’re wearing our cool shades, too. 😎
That’s excellent.
The sculpture festival is a lot of fun!
The weather has become way to variable here in southern Ontario for ice carving to be meaningful. Tomorrow it’s supposed to go down to -16C and then warm up to 3C on Sunday.
Yikes. That’s quite a change. I experienced that when I lived in southeastern Alberta, but those extreme temperature variations were caused by chinook conditions. I think we’re going to be seeing more of these extremes, unfortunately.
