Breaking into the sun at the summit of the Okanagan Connector Highway (it very literally is a “high way”). Then there was some of this. Happy Saturday. Your room with the fireplace looks like a good one to hang out in. Stay warm!
We were driving through the mountains yesterday and then stopped at a hotel with the great fireplace in their lounge. It was a nice reward!
The connector looks in good shape. I wonder how the Yellowhead is, since they shut it down for avalanche control. No new snow here in a week and nothing but blue skies. Happy Saturday Lynette. Allan
At the summit the weather became clear and sunny, but we had been in some major pea soup on the way up. The Yellowhead is in fair condition, no ice but lots of road spray. We stayed at the Best Western in Valemount last night. Good beds and decent food with a great fireplace in the lounge. Unfortunately the bakery is closed today. Cheers.
I thought you were headed North. Darn bakery hours never seem to work for travelers. Safe travels Lynette. Allan
Yes, I was looking forward to trying your suggestion but that will have to happen another time!
Beautiful photos that capture the essence of wintertime. Happy Saturday!
Thank you very much, Ally. That highway was certainly demonstrating the beautiful and the demanding. Cheers.
I like the last part best.
We did, too. We had a lovely little dinner sitting next to the fire. It was very relaxing.
That’s how it should be.
Very nice sequence. Especially like the breaking into sun shot.
Thank you very much. It became very foggy while driving to the summit and then we were suddenly in the sun with the snow-shrouded trees and blue sky. Such a welcome juxtaposition.
So beautiful and the fire closes the sequence perfectly.
Thank you very much, Cindy. It was a long but interesting drive through some of the more northerly mountains. Having a dinner next to the fire afterwards was a wonderful reward.
A complete story arc, in three photos
Thank you, Penny.
Thank you very much. 🙂
The views just kept getting better and better!
Right? After the drive we had a lovely evening in front of the fire!
