A frozen sunflower head droops forlornly …

… but still contains many of its seeds, providing winter sustenance for birds and squirrels.
Happy Sunday.

I like that shot Lynette!
Thank you very much, Wayne! 🙂
You’re right to say “forlorn”, that sunflower actually looks sad!
Doesn’t it? It seemed so dejected, all dry and frost-covered like that, but the reason I noticed it is that a bird was getting a seed from it. Nature makes use of everything. 🙂
A real hoar show Lynette. We had a bit of hoar frost here on Friday. Always so pretty. Happy Sunday. Allan
Hahaha. 🙂 Thanks, Allan. Last night we were hit by a massive storm with 80 km winds, dropping temperatures and 10 cm of snow! It’s projected to continue into tomorrow. Are you experiencing anything like that?
Sunny and 0 with winds to 44 km here today, but temps dropping for next few days. Weather!!!!
Thanks Allan. Our temperature is supposed to drop into the -20s this afternoon from -3, -4 over the last couple of days. Exactly – weather!
really stunning Lynette
Thank you very much. 🙂
That’s a beautiful photo, Lynette.
Thank you very much, Anneli.
Happy Sunday! We certainly got a wallop of snow this past week. It seems to be melting, but not fast enough for me.
Yes, a terrible storm seems to have hit much of the west coast from Oregon to British Columbia. We are being walloped here in the subarctic as well, but that’s not unusual for this geographic location!
This is too wonderful! Go see the post I just uploaded! Some 14 hours after your own, but before checking my Reader…
I have commented on your post! What a lovely find-alike!
Gorgeous capture. I love how you can see some of the teeny tiny snowflakes on the frozen sunflower.
Thank you very much, Linda. This was a bit of a lucky one as I was in a hurry when I saw it and only took one photo.
Fine shot!
Thank you very much. 🙂
