I passed this young deer as he was having a snack near a sidewalk.
He briefly stared at me before deciding I was of no consequence and returned to his yummies.
Meanwhile, his mom decided that she didn’t like me and crossed the road.
Not too quickly, but she made her point.

Mom and son both are looking beautiful ❤️ well captured.
Thank you very much. 🙂They were an adorable sight.
Yes absolutely 😊
What a pleasant gift for your day.
Yes, it definitely was. 🙂
We see so many deer in our neighborhood..but look so sweet.
Agreed. There are lots here too, but I always find them so lovely.
I’m glad the garden seems well defended. It looks like very scant and dry grass for fodder.
Yes, it has been very dry (with two recent fires nearby, as well) causing the deer to more frequently come into town where they can get access to gardens. My neighbour had to entirely enclose his garden because the deer were getting in so often.
Love the different priorities of the young deer compared to its mom. At least you managed to snap a few pictures before they took off.
He was definitely establishing his independence from mom! It was interesting getting those photos as they were so close but in my hurry I started scrambling around. They turned out okay though. Cheers.
