I love blue jays. There seem to be fewer around this year and I wonder if they were victims of avian flu. Will have to wait until acorn season and see how many come to my yard. Happy Monday Lynette. Allan
I do as well. I didn’t realise that their numbers are down this year as they aren’t particularly known for coming this far north. We only ever see a few up here. Normally, I see many more of them in the Penticton area. I’ll be paying attention to their numbers when I arrive back (on Friday). Cheers.

Such colours. We don’t have those jays here. We have the Steller’s jays. They have a brilliant colour of blue, but only the one colour
Yes, the Stellar’s Jays are also beautiful. They are common in BC but not any farther west than the Rockies. Another BC advantage. 😉
Blue Jays are such colourful birds. It’s neat to see the little fledglings and when they start to turn blue.
I agree. They are really beautiful and their wing patterns so distinctive when they fly.
