This wet robin reminded me of a favourite Raffi song from my son’s childhood.

Robin in the rain
What a saucy fellow
Robin in the rain
Mind your socks of yellow
Running in the garden on your nimble feet
Digging for your dinner with your long strong beak
Robin in the rain
You don’t mind the weather
Showers always make you gay
But the worms are wishing you would stay at home
Robin on a rainy day
Robin in the rain
Robin in the rain
– Raffi; from Singable Songs for the Very Young
Happy Monday.
Nice post
Thanks
You’re welcome. 🙂
I remember that song and it pops into my head whenever I see a robin out in the rain. Have I been programmed or what?!
You definitely have been! My son listened to Raffi over and over and over; he pops into my head when I see robins or hear about “hot days.” I think I’ve been programmed too!
I forgot all about Raffi. What great memories.
Yes, Raffi brings back wonderful memories of when my son was little! 🙂
I’ve never heard of that song before. It’s pretty catchy.
When my son was young, he was a big Raffi fan; I heard him so often that I thought if I ever heard him again it would be too soon, but hearing him now is very nostalgic. I think this song is actually very old, from the very early 20th century. It’s probably in the public domain and Raffi did a cover. Cheers.
It’s raining here, now; it’s also dark, so I’m unlikely to see Robin in the rain! Thank you for including the video clip –
You’re very welcome. 🙂 If it’s too dark, the robins are probably sheltering anyway!
