I’d never heard of chokecherry until I was on vacation in South Dakota. I wrote a blog post about a man there who told me all about how he picked them in the wild and made syrup from them.
Yes, you can use the berries for jam or wine, too. The jam is really good; the berries are very tart, so it turns out exceptionally well. Cheers.
