        1. Many Canadians aren’t used to this degree of cold either; these are subarctic temperatures. At home in the Okanagan it doesn’t get much colder than -5C, so it’s a lot warmer.

    1. Thank you very much. We are getting at least some snow every day, so it’s collecting at a rapid rate, and the north is so beautiful in the winter. Glad to hear that you’re getting that festive feel!

    1. I used to live in southern Alberta, in Medicine Hat, and I usually experienced 2-3 weeks of -35 in late December and early January. Here it goes on for much longer and it’s much more intensely cold. -45 isn’t unusual in the subarctic. Breathing in that cold air is an experience. The lungs get a bit of a shock!
