I saw this scene on a recent visit to southern Alberta.

A ripening canola field, blue sky and green grass made for a very restful view.
I had a nice walk and lovely little lunch while admiring this field and its outbuildings.
Happy Tuesday. 🙂

🙂 That prairie view is breathtaking!
It is definitely impressive! 🙂
When earth meets the sky…
Yes, it does feel that way, for sure! 🙂
Loved this capture.😊
Thank you very much. 🙂
You are welcome.
Beautiful in its simplicity, Lynette. And, wow, talk about wide open spaces!
It certainly is. I used to live on the prairies, and it reminds me a lot of the ocean; there are many similarities. It is very wide open and there is such an intrinsic sense of freedom.
Beautiful photo. Summer is when the plains come alive. 🌱
Thank you. 🙂 Yes, prairies really sort of glow during the summer.
Yes indeed🌳🌞
Love this! So peaceful. Any idea what that dark figure/spot is?
Thank you. 🙂 Yes, I do know. It’s a very old outbuilding that seems to be a storage shed of some kind. There was a small track leading to it.
Interesting – thanks!
A lovely photo. I’m not sure I’ve ever knowingly seen a canola field.
Thank you. 🙂 The canola fields are absolutely stunning when they lean against a blue sky like that.
Very flat terrain. Is the rest of the region flat too?
Southern Alberta is for the most part quite flat. Many different types of grain are grown there, although it’s starting bloom solar panels now – many, many fields of them.
The land seems to go on forever on the prairies, and I love the “big sky.”
It definitely feels that way when I’m there, and yes, such a big, open sky!
Looks like you could walk off the edge of the earth!
There’s not much of a sense of curvature!
So beautiful!
Thank you! 🙂 It is a starkly beautiful area.
Lovely capture. I love the sea of greens and yellows. The field looks like it goes on forever.
Thank you. 🙂 It really does look that way, and of course, it does go on like that for a couple of hundred kilometres in every direction. I used to fly over this area a lot, and in summer it’s so pretty with its patchwork of colourful fields.
So peaceful. Wonderfully simple. Lovely image! 🙂
Thank you very much. 🙂 It is indeed very beautiful and peaceful. The simplicity communicates such a sense of how small we are.
