This photo could be straight out of one of my recurring nightmares. I’m walking along this path and I know there is a grizzly coming down the hill and I’ll meet him just around the bend in the path. But can I turn around? NO. I have to keep walking. I always wake up before I get attacked though. (Like waking up before you hit bottom in those “falling off a cliff” dreams.)
I didn’t think of that before, but yes, you’re right! And that’s such a Canadian concern to have! I’ve learned from being in the NWT that you’re supposed to stand your ground if a bear starts to charge. No running, especially not up a tree, but I think I would just have a heart attack and become bear snacks. 😉
And playing dead is just practice for what will happen later.
