Sun!

We have finally turned enough for more sun and less snow. It’s downhill now to spring.

For those of you who found Friday’s winter road photo interesting, here’s another part of the same lake, without road.

Welcome, sun! And only -4C!

I hope that wherever you are, you are having a pleasant, sunny day (especially Texas).

Happy week. 🙂

    1. Yes, it was a very beautiful day. Unfortunately, the temperature has dropped again today but is expected to be warmer later in the week. We still have the sun, though, very bright and clear. It won’t be raining here for months. 🙂

      1. That’s good news, Lynette – the temperature due to rise again. You can have some of our rain if you like. Although, today, we had our first day without any rain for quite a few weeks, and we’re expecting more dry days, which will make the muddy paths easier to walk.

      1. Talking with a friend in Texas, it sounds less like outright mismanagement, and more like serious lack of vision and preparedness. It’s what happens when you assume Mother Nature is going to do what she’s always done – even with a rapidly changing climate. And why spend money to be prepared?!?

        1. I think Mother Nature is going to be doing things a lot more differently. When I talk to the elders up here about the weather, they all say that it has become a lot warmer and also much less predictable. Yup, being prepared is the sensible thing, but it seems to be a very hard lesson for humans to learn.

  1. Nice clear sky. It’s been about 10f (-13c) here for a month. Today is the first day we reached over freezing 35f. (2c). We still have a lot of snow on the ground though. It’s going to take a while for it all to melt. I usually don’t mind winter, but after having covid and being locked up for so long, I’m itching for spring.

    1. I hear you, Lori. My patience is wearing thin, and I haven’t had covid. You must be hanging on by one fingernail. We’re supposed to reach 75% vaccinated by the end of March (for NWT) and 75% by end of June or July for the country. Fingers crossed. Having sun is a big mood lifter, even if it’s still cold out, but I’m really looking forward to the melting and the warming. 🙂

      1. I hate to burst your bubble, Lynette, but I heard September mentioned this morning as they argued about it in “Zoom” Parliament. I’m not even holding my breath for that! Sorry, but it just didn’t sound encouraging listening to Question Period. I think we just have to do the best we can until the thing wears itself out.
        Nice clean, snowy picture!

        1. I thought that might be overly optimistic when I heard it on the news on the weekend, so I already had some doubts going on. NWT will be done, though. Shot no 2 is happening in the next couple of weeks.
I’m very disappointed in the behaviour of most of the politicians (no matter the stripe) – playing politics, not closing the border as they should have, messing around with confusing shutdown orders, mixed messages everywhere. Although there have been exceptions, for the most part, this has been poorly handled.

    1. It is beautiful, and it actually wasn’t too cold when I took this. Gone down to -20 again, though. 🥶It’s only supposed to be a temporary drop, fingers crossed. I am for sure enjoying the bug-free weather status. 😉

I'd love to hear what you have to say!
