The Canadian weather-predicting groundhogs Wiarton Willie and Shubenacadie Sam decided that spring would be early this year. Yay!
I saw my shadow but I decided not to let it scare me.

I hope your local groundhog has sent good weather tidings your way.
Happy mid-week. 🙂
Yesterday was too cold and windy to pay attention to the groundhog. I’m so ready for spring!
Me too! But I’m going to have to wait quite a bit longer, unfortunately.
Happy mid-week better start planning your weekend before the week end.
Thank you. 🙂 Not much planning needed really. I just try to rest up for the next round of work.
Yeah. The groundhog gimmick. Just when you think winter is never going to end, they come out to tell us there will be 6 more weeks of winter if they see their shadow or 42 more days if they don’t. A good laugh as the cold and snow lingers on. Love the shadows of winter. They make us all look so tall and slender. Allan
Hahaha. 😉 You’re sure right about that. And up here, it’s more like 12. Nice elongating shadows – great diet plan. 🙂
Lucky you! The groundhog in the US said we have 6 more weeks. 😜
I’m too far north for the dear little hog to make much difference. My best weather predictor is my parka. When it’s too warm to wear, the weather has turned. 😉
Lol
🙂
Oh it truly looks cold there but very pretty with the snow. Sending hugs 🤗 Joni
It is definitely beautiful, and I’ve often said that winter is the far north’s best season. It’s cold though. -25C today. 🥶
Hugs to you, too.
Oh that is very cold. You are right it is really pretty. I love a good snow fall. Stay warm. Hugs and hot chocolate coming your way. Joni 🤗❤️
Yes, it is, and today it’s much colder at -38C. Very sunny, though, so it has been bright!
Wow you must be use to it. I hope you get to enjoy the sun again on your days off. I bet it is so peaceful walking to work. Have a blessed day. Love ❤️ Joni
I can’t say that I’m used to it; it’s more that I’m used to how to dress for it. We’re starting to have some light on the way to work now, so that’s nice. Days are getting longer. 🙂
The groundhog’s shadow is different this year. Hmm…
Sure is. And it decides the weather based on how thick the parka needs to be. 😉
Six more weeks of winter brings us to the middle of March. I think I can handle that. May it come sooooooon!
I couldn’t agree more. Except the far north is going to insist on 12. I’m looking forward to taking my holidays in Penticton. 🙂
Spring is beautiful there with all the blossoms.
Yes, it definitely is. 🙂
Yay, words I love to hear. Although, the one drawback to an early spring may mean an early start for the mosquitoes. Not sure which I prefer: the cold or the bugs.
Yes, mosquito season. 😝It starts here about 4 days after the temperature goes above zero. I think I would rather have cold. You can dress for that. But mossies? No matter how much bug spray I wear, they still manage to do damage.
So true. I would take the cold over the skeeters too.
I don’t need a groundhog. If December and January are relatively nice, as they were this year, February is going to be winter on steroids. What’s on the way this weekend? Polar vortex!!!!
I don’t need one either; my parka always tells me when it’s time to stick it in the back of the closet. 😉 We are going to experience -40C (-40F) this weekend, so polar vortex it is. Yuck. 🥶
Good picture. Stay warm up there!
Thanks, I will. 🙂
You’re welcome 🙂
LOL!
🙂
