At 11 p.m, the northern sun started to sink below the horizon.

The very long daylight hours …

… make up for the long hours of darkness in December.

These are not the best quality photos as they were taken from the side window of a moving vehicle, but in this series, it’s the sky that counts.
Have a good week. 🙂
Gorgeous!
Thank you – at times it really looked like the trees were on fire!

Wow! Stunning shots!
Thank you, Jill. 🙂 It was really an amazing sky.
Great shots for being taken through the window of a moving vehicle Lynette. As the days shorten, I will actually be awake for the sunsets, soon. Thanks for sharing. Allan
Thank you, Allan. 🙂 I tried to reduce the blur as much as possible, but M was doing about 110 km. I thought about stopping for a couple of good shots, but in the north the mossies have been so terrifically bad this year that I just couldn’t! I am in Penticton now and they are nowhere near as bad. Yes – waiting up for the sunset can make it pretty late!
I take many pictures this way. It’s good to be a passenger. 😄 Beautiful scene
Thank you. 🙂 I can enjoy being a passenger and there certainly are photographic advantages. 🙂
Magnificent color!
Thank you. 🙂 It was such a breathtaking show.
So beautiful colors! Sunsets are so different and nice to photograph. Yesterday I realized that the day has shortened. The sunset is at 22.40 and sun is rising 4.14. Soon it will be one hour shorter.
Yes – the colours were really spectacular. Yes, it’s amazing how quickly the days become shorter. In the north, nature does have a way of moving quickly!
What a glorious display! You do much better taking pics from the passenger seat than I do!
Thank you! 🙂 I seem to have something of a talent for it although these are not as clear as I would like them.
Really wonderful.
Thank you – much appreciated. 🙂

So beautiful! Thanks for posting these! Made my day better!
Thank you! I like to hear that my photos have done that. Your poems have been wonderful, too. 🙂
Thanks. And you’re welcome!
Moving car or not, those are some really vivid sunsets!
You should have waited an hour or two and got the accompanying sunrise as well! 😉
Thank you! 🙂 Unfortunately, we needed to squeeze some sleep in there before continuing our drive. That is something I have thought about doing, though. 🙂
So pretty!! 💜✨
Yes, it was. 🙂
