On a recent road trip, I recorded our entry into the light.
The frosty, shrouded air …
… began to turn orange.
The sun began to appear …
amid the trees until …
Soleil!
Sometimes, breaking into the light comes after a lovely lustrous rime.
Greetings from the frosty northern sun. π
How lovely! (I can never get pictures taken from my car to work at all. Yours are fantastic. )
Thank you Barb! π
I wasnβt sure of these at all. The windshield was covered in crud and we were moving at a good speed, but Iβm happy with the results. π
A long way from DR, but still, so beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Lynette!
Hahaha. π Yes, a long way. It was quite a sunrise as we came from the very frosty early morning into that valley. π
Beautiful, through a window, Lynette. We got 20 cm of white stuff here yesterday, so my outdoor gym was again open. Now, we head for the deepfreeze for the next 10 days. At least the snow has stopped…..and there are no mosquitoes. Stay warm. Allan
Thank you! π
Yes, one thing about the cold is that there are no bugs! (How can you tell weβre Canadian? π ) -36 here today!
That last photo with the sun is stunning! Calendar worthy, a show-stopper.
Thank you! Thatβs such a nice compliment. π
That looks like a beautiful start to the day.
It was. π There had been a lot of frost in the air and quite overcast, but then the sun came!
Oh, that last one looks like a painting! Love it!
Thank you! π I think it looks like a painting too – but it really is a photo. It was just the light play. π
Those are some of the coolest photos.
Yes, so true. π
Terrific sequence! (And I’ll agree with Barb: You are apparently a Goddess of Car Photos. My attempts always look like crime scenes, regardless of the subject.)
Thank you, Brian! π These photos turned out much better than I thought they would. The windshield was a dirty, smeary mess, but I found this sunrise so impressive that I wanted to try.
I donβt agree that your photos look like crime scenes; youβre not giving yourself enough credit. I find them interesting and engaging. π
Ice fog… It’s a magic world. (For all that your windshield was a dirty smeary mess! Turns out the magic overcame the windshield…)
The ice fog world is magic. π A little tricky for driving though.
Thanks – the photos arenβt bad considering the windshield dirt. π
Beautiful sequence of shots, Lynette. That sunshine must have been so welcome. π
Thank you. π Yes, it was quite welcome as the driving was a bit intensive through the frosty part. π
Beautiful! Must have been an awesome drive.
Thank you! π Yes, it was an awesome drive but tiring because it was fairly demanding in that weather.
Really bad weather in the car makes me tense up. My back, shoulders and head hurt after going through blinding rain. π§β‘οΈ
Driving in bad weather can be so stressful.
Yes it can.
Just lovely, very nice. π
Thank you! π
Such a great metaphor for life’s journey:) I really enjoyed this–cheers!
Oh yes, so true.
Thank you – cheers to you as well. π
How beautiful π
I so love the sky – especially at dawn and sunset
Thank you! π I love the sky at sunrise and sunset as well. π
Wonderfully cheering sequence.
Victory for light!
Regards Thom
Thank you. π It was quite impressively gloomy before the sun started to break through, so this was lovely.
Spectacular view! And I love how you seem to be the only traffic on the road. Somehow, that makes things feel more special to me, more intimate and personal. π β€
It was. π
We werenβt completely alone but there wasnβt very much traffic at all – it was quite early on a Saturday morning. π
You did a great job photographing this. Gorgeous scenes.
Thank you very much. π Iβm happy with how they turned out, especially through that crud-covered window.
Beautiful pictures. It must have been wonderful to see the sunrise after being in darkness.
Thank you. π It was very early morning with lots of ice fog, so the driving was a bit difficult. When the sun started to come up and the fog began to clear, it was such a simple but spectacular transformation. π
I’m so glad you were able to experience it.
