We recently took a short trip to Tofino, British Columbia. It’s famous for its stunning beaches, surf, fabulous old-growth forests, and as a gateway to eco-travelling.
Many people also come to Tofino in the fall to see the storm waves crashing on the shore.
Tofino is on the Pacific Ocean, and the next stop is Japan. Those waves have plenty of time to work up a good head of steam before throwing themselves at the land.
The power of the waves pushed this giant log ashore; a surfer could be a very easy matter.
This beautiful location on the western edge of Vancouver Island is a total jewell.
What a gorgeous getaway! Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos, Lynette.
Thanks Jill. 🙂 It really was wonderful and the weather just so comfortable.
A really lovely place to go, Lynette. That log reminds me of an alligator. 😀
Yes – it does look like an alligator now that you mention it.
It is lovely. 🙂
LOVE the island – heaven on earth 🙂 Great shots.
Thank you. 🙂
Yes – it is so beautiful. 🙂
I’ve given you a Mystery Blogger Award, what happens next is up to you – https://anupturnedsoul.wordpress.com/2019/03/21/mystery-blogger-award-spring-sparks/
Thank you! Mystery blogger – that sounds like an apt description. 😉
I like the idea of an off-season visit, you capture its sulky power very well
Thank you! 🙂 It was really a lovely visit and we even had some sun.
I see you visited Chestermans beach Lynette. When its too rough to go out in my boat,I ride out to Chesty for sunset shots. My favourite spot is on Frank island looking westward towards Lennard island lighthouse.
You’ll be back……they always come back after being bitten. Great shots!
Thank you – coming from you that’s quite a compliment. 🙂 The sunsets must be really something.
We definitely are coming back! This was just too short, but it was better than not coming at all. 🙂
oh yes! i remember Tofino, beautiful place, but too much wind when i was there, we couldn’t stand on the beach.
Yes – really beautiful. I have heard that it can get very windy in the fall – people come to watch the waves/storms. Almost no wind at all when we went. Very calm.
Thank you so much for sharing this! Beautiful photos:) Tofino is on our family’s bucket list of places to visit!
You won’t be disappointed. It’s breath taking. 🙂
Beautiful, Lynette. I have my ancient people scavenging driftwood in my upcoming story. Your picture brings that to life.
Thank you. 🙂
There is a lot of driftwood on that coast. I picked up a few small pieces and brought them home with me. So beautifully smooth, like velvet.
Beautiful place and thank you for sharing awesome pictures specially that log resembling so much as an alligator!!!
Right? It does look like an alligator! 🙂
If someone wouldn’t go through your post… they couldn’t guess that it’s simply log…
True! 😀
