It’s still January but about two weeks ago, the weather turned. The temperature crept up, the bit of snow we had started to melt, and the ducks started squawking and flapping. Every day now it’s a little warmer and a little sunnier.
This morning I was out walking and took this photo of Skaha Lake. I’m lucky enough to live across from it and have been watching its moody winter changes this year.
It’s still got some ice over the shallows near the shore, but I don’t think that will last long.

Spring is coming. 🙂
Wow! That photo is amazing, Lynette! I think I’d have to frame that one. It’s so soothing to look at.
Thank you! 🙂 This lake has a very comforting sense about it on a calm day. I like being near water. 🙂
Beauteous!
Thank you! 🙂
Lucky you! We are still suffering near Arctic conditions here in usually mild old Surrey. What a view though. You’ll never tire of that one, will you? 😉
I do feel lucky – this is a micro-climate because we’re in a valley. In the mountains that surround us it’s a different story – lots of snow. I have to enjoy it while I can because I’m going north for a short-term job until the end of June and will miss most of the beautiful spring that occurs here.
Beautiful!! Reminds me of some scenery in Scotland. You are lucky to live in such a place. 🌸🌸🌸
Yes – I am. 🙂
We’re in a valley here between mountain ranges and so the weather and climate are quite different down where we are. 10K from here up Apex Mountain, there’s lots of skiing!
Love the icy tree at the top. 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
I took that picture one day during a temperature inversion – there was a lot of ice fog.
